Hello
We are traveling to Japan for 10 days and we need to buy a SIM card to access the Internet during our stay. Where should we buy SIM cards from and which company provides the best network service with the best pricing and plans?

If you have multiple devices, a portable hotspot is a good option. Lots of stores sell data sims at the airport. As for best options - not sure. It does get discussed on the Trip Advisor Japan forum occasionally.

Bic Camera has them. You can get them in a physical sim card or e-sim. Obviously cards with more data available cost more. If you expect to use online maps and the internet a lot, just get one with more data bandwidth. Something like this: https://www.biccamera.com/bc/item/11073456/

After a bit of searching, we found Labi stores sold evisitor SIM cardsf for 3,000 yen for 7 GBs, that is about AUD $30. We are using the phone for maps, internet and messaging back home, it seems to be just the right amount for us for 3 weeks travelling. Good luck.

Download an e-sim before you go. Activate when you land. They are cheap as well.
