Shirakawa-go: a Gassho House and a Ryokan

Within the Shirakawa-go Tourist Association - https://shirakawa-go.gr.jp/en/ - I have seen 21 listed Gassho House names and 10 Ryokan names. Bookings can be made 3 months in advance via their website or maybe earlier through booking.com / Agoda etc. My wife and I would like to stay in both a Gassho House and a Ryokan there. Places convenient to transport would be good as we will come from Takayama and go on to Kanazawa. My question: Any recommendations from the 21 and 10 lists will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I am not aware of any ryokan. All of them are minshuku according to my understanding. My recommendation is the Maegoemon because of its size and beauty: https://shirakawa-go.gr.jp/en/stay/39/I haven't stayed there for 20 years, though.

Staying two nights in Shirakawago seems too much. Maybe stay one night in a gasshotsukuri as they are unique there and stay in a ryokan somewhere else in your trip

Ogimachi is really (really) tiny. 90 minutes you can cover the whole place. more than that most people get bored. Two nights is too much unless you are spending your time somewhere else. Consider a single night at one of the houses, and a ryokan stay somewhere else (Takayama perhaps).
