With a vision to create a new global business hub in the center of Tokyo, the Mori Building company has recently completed the Toranomon Hills complex in the Toranomon district. From small and aging buildings, the area was transformed into a modern business district comprising of four modern skyscrapers with office space, shops, restaurants, hotels and residences as well as the new Toranomon Hills subway station, which opened in 2020. With the opening of the Station Tower on October 6, 2023, the complex was completed.

Toranomon Hills lies in the middle of Tokyo, north of Tokyo Tower, east of Roppongi, west of Shimbashi, and south of Kasumigaseki, the home of most ministries of the government of Japan. All of the complex' four skyscrapers - the Mori Tower, Business Tower, Residence Tower and Station Tower - are connected to one another via elevated and underground walkways. They contain two Hyatt hotels: the Andaz Tokyo and the Hotel Toranomon Hills, which is scheduled to open on December 6, 2023.

The last skyscraper in the Toranomon Hills complex to be completed was the Station Tower, which opened on October 6, 2023. Standing at 266 meters, it is the tallest of the four skyscrapers and was built on top of the new subway station. In addition to office space, the Station Tower consists of nine floors of retail shops, the above-mentioned Hotel Toranomon Hills on floors 11-14, and the "Tokyo Node" on the top floors, offering a gallery, event hall, some spectacular restaurants and a sky garden with pool. The restaurants offer nice views over Tokyo and are worth considering for those who want to enjoy a special meal.

The Mori Tower, a 52-storied, 247 meter tall skyscraper, was the first building in the redevelopment to be completed in June 2014. The Andaz Tokyo, the Hyatt brand's first luxury hotel in Japan, is located on the top floors of the Mori Tower.

The Business Tower was completed in 2020, and the majority of the building contains office space. Of interest to non-business visitors are the retail shops that occupy the basement floor to the third floor, especially Toranomon Yokocho, a sizeable dining area with many restaurants offering meals in a casual and chic setting.

The forth tower, the Residential Tower, was completed in 2022 and - as its name suggests - contains residential apartments in the heart of the city.

Access

Toranomon Hills Station on the Hibiya Subway Line is directly connected to the Toranomon Hills complex. Underground walkways also connect directly to the more distant Toranomon Station on the Ginza Subway Line.

A bus terminal on the first floor of the Business Tower is the arrival and departure point for the Tokyo BRT, an express bus service, which connects Toranomon Hills with Shimbashi Station and the Harumi, Toyosu and Odaiba districts in Tokyo Bay, as well as airport limousine buses from Haneda Airport (operation currently suspended).

A major road known as the Ring Road No. 2 passes under Toranomon Hills and continues to the Ariake and Toyosu districts on the man-made islands in Tokyo Bay.
