February 11, 2016 - My Travel Experiences of Kashihara Jingu Grand Shinto Shrine

I would like to introduce you to my travel experiences in Kashihara Jingu Grand Shinto Shrine in Nara.

This photo shows you a coupon issued by Hanshin Electric Railway Company in collaboration with Kintetsu Corporation. This ticket is also available at Nara Kotsu Bus, 200-yen discountable bicycle-rental service, and specific historical sites and restaurants in Asuka Area. By this coupon, you can explore all Hanshin lines from Kobe Motomachi to Osaka Namba, and specific Kintetsu lines such as between Osaka Namba and Tsuruhashi, between Yamato-Yagi and Tsubosaka-yama, and between Yamato-Yagi and Sakurai Stations. You can get on and off freely by this coupon, but you cannot get off Kintetsu trains freely between Tsuruhashi and Yamato-YagiD@And if you'd like to use Kintetsu Superexpress train, you have to buy an extra express ticket (“Á‹}Œ”)

This festivity commemorates the Enthronemet of the Japan's First Emperor Jimmu at the day said to be in February 11th in 660 B.C., which is measured in terms of the Solar System. It is 2676 years ago!! People around the world are surprised at the fact Japan is the oldest and has her still continuing Imperial Family!

The Spirits of the Emperor Jimmu and his Empress are enshrined at this Kashihara Jingu Grand Shinto Shrine. The Jimmu Tenno ordained Kashihara near Mt.Unebi as Japan's First Capital and vowed to the Sun Goddess of Amaterasu saying "Japan unifies internally and we shall cherish mutually as brotherhood."

Our National Flag of the Rising Sun welcomes you with dignity and being waved!
Its shining in the sunshine ^^

This signifies that this shrine is related to the Imperial Family and nationally protected and revered shrine.

Some facilities in her precincts have been shifted and reconstructed from the Kyoto Imperial Palace, which the successive Mikados used for praying for Japan's people's happiness, prosperity, her land's harvest and fertility ^^

Many visitors assemble waiting for a line of Imperial messengers with messages and prayers of the 125th Reigning His Majesty the Emperor. This photo shows the messengers pass by

The green box with the Imperial Family Crest of Chrysanthemum is the messages of the Emperor
The messages are given to the Deity of the Shrine. This is to show thanks to the Deity for Japanese citizens' current prosperity and happiness
