Hike from Magome to Tsumago in March 2013/2/21 08:51
I will be in Japan the second half of March this year and I would like to do the hike between Magome and Tsumago, do you know if there will be still snow at this period of time?

Does it worth to go to the Japanese Alps just to do this hike?

I think that there is usually no or only a little bit of snow in the second half of March, and that the trail is generally walkable. It may look like on the following picture:

In combination with the pretty post towns of Magome and Tsumago I think it is worth a detour or trip on its own if you happen to be in the general region.
