How do I get to the Philospher's Path? 2013/2/25 13:43
My hotel is the Kyoto Garden Hotel, a 1 minute walk from Karasuma Oike station. Can I walk from Karasuma Oike station to the Philosopher's Path? If not, can I get to the Philosopher's Path via Karasuma Oike station?

From Karasuma-Oike, you can take the subway Tozai Line to Keage Station. That's the nearest station to the Philosopher's Path.

From Keage Station, walk towards Nanzenji Temple (I suggest touring around the temple). The Philosopher's Path is on the opposite side of the temple (from the station direction). The Philosopher's Path actually starts closer to Eikando and goes up to Ginkakuji.

Alternatively, you could take a bus to Ginkakuji and walk south. For some people that makes it easier to find the start of the path.
