Hi,
Q1) I will most likely take the JR beetle from Busan, Korea to Fukuoka but can i activate my JR pass in korea at the Ferry station? I was hoping for a ferry to Hiroshima but this one is the best option i think and then just train it from Fukuoka to Hiroshima. Any other suggestions?
Q2) Can i bring Canadian currency there or should i bring US?

You can take Canadian currency and exchange it. Taking US currency wouldn't be a good idea because you'll get hit with the double conversion rate (CA to US to JP). You could just take your bank card and withdraw money at 7-11 and post office ATMs. Much easier than worrying about keeping track of the cash and having to find a money exchanger.
