Using Kansai Thru Pass fm Osaka Uehommachi to Arashiyama, how to navigate to Sagano Train ride? Intended to spend a day there in end May.
Should buy 1 way Sagano ride or 2 ways? If 1 way, the return leg back to Arashiyama train station is within walking distance?
Which station to start & end in order to cover all / most areas?
Any idea route?

Arashiyama - Sagano Train Ride

With Kansai Thru Pass to Arashiyama, believed my start & end station will be Hankyu Arashiyama Station.
From there, I like to do with Sagano Tram ride from Saga Torokko Station & end at Kameoka Torokko Station (1 way).
From Kameoka Torokko Station, if I don't take the boat ride, how am I to return to Hankyu Arashiyama Station with visit to Bamboo Grove, Tenryu-Ji temple & Togetsu-kyo Bridge by foot with 2 childen aged 8 & 9?
If the return trip is too tired for young children, pls suggest which tram station to alight & continue the way back to see Bamboo Grove, Tenryu-Ji temple & Togetsu-kyo Bridge?
Beside Unagiya Hirokawa (best for eel), any good dining places within Arashiyama?
If anyone has a better routing for my 1 day trip to Arashiyama, much appreciated. Thanks

Then, you can walk back through the bamboo grove and over the bridge to Hankyu-Arashiyama Station. It is almost two kilometers, so small kids (and unfit adults) may get tired: https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Unknown+road&daddr=35.01727,135.674...

Hi Uji,
Is there any way using Kansai Thru Pass (without extra charge) to start the day at Umahori then walk to Kameoka Torokko station for tram ride to Arashiyama Torokko station without having to pay 2 ways of tram ride? Thanks.

No, neither the JR trains nor the Sagano trains are covered by the Kansai Thru Pass.

Thanks Uji. Think I've no choice but to take 2 ways of Sagano Train Ride.
Btw, 1 whole day at Arashiyama with visit to below places is it too little with departure fm Osaka-Uehommachi station at 9am (will train be crowded at 8am)? - Togetsukyo Bridge - Tenryuji Temple - Lunch at Unagiya Hirokawa - Bamboo Grove - 2 ways tram ride
What else is a must visit at Arashiyama? Thanks

Arashiyama's main attractions are listed here. I recommend to pick based on personal interest: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3912.htmlPeople interested in history and temples should visit Daikakuji. People interested in animals and nature are likely to enjoy the moneky park.
