Getting to Shakado pass, Kamakura? 2013/5/5 19:03
I have a day free and I was thinking of visiting kamakura for a day trip from Tokyo, to specifically see the Shakado pass.

Does anyone know the fastest way to get there from Tokyo? I guess the area is only accessible by buses, or is it limited to foot?

And after I'm done there, will there be time to look around the rest of Kamakura too?

It is a 30 minute walk from Kamakura Station:

Alternatively, you could take the bus part of the way and reduce walking time to under 15 minutes:

Thank you so much! I think I will rent a bicycle at the station and head there. Do you know if the terrain is suitable for a bicycle or are there very bumpy or rocky roads along the way?

It is all beautifully paved except a few meters around the actual pass it seems. Some passages are uphill/downhill. You can follow almost the entire route by Google Streetview.
