Suica Card Return

Hello,
I'm planning on getting the Suica card in Tokyo. From what I've gathered, this card can also be used in Kyoto (except buses) and Osaka. I'm arriving in Tokyo, but departing from Osaka.
Would someone be able to answer these questions?
* Can you use the Suica card on Osaka's trams? * As long as I'm using the JR lines from Osaka Station to KIX, is the Suica card still valid? * I've gathered that you can return the Suica card in Tokyo for part of the remaining balance on the card. Can I also do that at the KIX terminal?
Thanks!

Which tram? There are almost no trams in Osaka. The Hankai trams to Sakai? The Hankai trams are among the very small number of exceptions that still do not accept IC cards, such as Suica. The "New Tram" along the waterfront, on the other hand, does accept IC cards.

Yes.
I've gathered that you can return the Suica card in Tokyo for part of the remaining balance on the card. Can I also do that at the KIX terminal?
No, only in the service area of JR East, which does not include Osaka. But note that the balance remains active for ten years. In case you plan another trip to Japan within the next ten years, you will be able to use it again.

Thanks for the answers, Uji.
Do you know if I can refill a Suica card in Kyoto or Osaka then?

O by the way, as for the reason why I asked about trams in Osaka, it's because I looked up directions from Osaka Station to Sumiyoshi Taisha on Google Maps and two of the routes included trams. http://goo.gl/maps/JSDL7阪堺電軌上町線 200円 各停 Tram towards 浜寺駅前行 and 阪堺電軌阪堺線 (stay on board) 各停 Tram towards 浜寺駅前行 Are these new? Do they require a different form of payment? Thanks!

The tram is old. You will feel as if you would come to a developing country.
Anyway, all you need is 200yen, 2 100yen coins. When you go back to Osaka city centre, you can ride a Nankai Railway Line with Suica card.
