Hotel at Hakodate 2013/5/30 18:18
Hi, anyone stayed at Loisir Hotel Hakodate before? How is it or do you have any good hotels to recommend for Hakodate?

Is it better to stay near the Hakodate station or near the tourist attractions area?

Yes, I stayed there several years ago. I consider it a better 3-star hotel. Nevertheless, it is considered one of Hakodate's best - I don't think the city has any outstanding hotels. There are lots of cheap hotels right around the station. My favorite so far was the Danshaku Club:

For a low budget I recommend the Route Inn.

Thanks for your reply.

May I know if there is any amenities around the main Station? (eg convenient stores)

Is it better to stay near the Station or near the tourists attractions area?

Loisir Hotel Hakodate is conveniently located just outside the rail station. We stayed at the cheaper business hotel Comfort Hotel which is right across the road junction from the rail station. If you zoom in on the following Hakodate map you can see 3 convenient stores (two 7/11s and one CircleK/Sunkus) within easy walking distance from the rail station.

The bus for Hakodate-yama leaves from the bus terminal in front of the rail station. The Asaichi Morning Market is less than 5 min walk away and so is Daimon Yokocho (in the other direction) if you want to taste some "yakai" style of eating in the evening.
