private guides in Tokyo 2013/6/6 12:20
We are a group of 5 people who will be visiting Tokyo from 6/22 -06/27/2013. We are interested in having a private english speaking guide take us around Tokyo and the outside areas, Kamakura and Nikko. Do you have any recommendations and would you recommend that we take the train to Nikko and or Kamakura and just get a local guide.?

How would you suggest we set up this trip? How should we divide up our days/

Thanks

Private guide for Nikko. We found an excellent English-speaking guide on the Nikoo tourist website when we toured Japan last month. We were based in Tokyo for part of our 3 week holiday and took the Shinkansen and local train to Nikko for a day trip. Our guide met us at the station in her car and she drove us round the main sights and guided us for the 6 hours we had there. I can thoroughly recommend her services, a truly delightful and knowledgable person. Her name is Nobuko Uzuka and is listed on www.totak.org website.
