Homestay travel: How much money to bring?

Hey guys, I'm going to Japan this summer and I am very excited. I am going to stay with a host family for three weeks. The program I'm covers almost everything (food and such) and I have already paid for the flight tickets. I was wondering how much money I should bring. I am not a huge spender but I do not want to be cheap when going there. I want enough money so I will be able to fully enjoy my stay there. How much do you guys suggest I take with me? Thanks.
