Nagoya Castle is rather huge and has a lot of different exhibitions on many floor levels, so if you want to see everything at a comfortable pace, I'd say about an hour for sure.

We spent an hour just wandering around the grounds and taking photos as it was prime Cherry Blossom time...beautiful.
We actually didnt go into the castle itself.
I think they have recently opened the first stage of a rebuild project, and that would be excellent viewing judging from the advertising we saw for it last year.
