Walk Magome to Tsumago enroute to Tokyo

Hello. We plan to travel from Takayama to Tokyo by train next April. Is it possible to to leave our bags at Nagoya station and travel up to walk one way between Magome and Tsumago before returning to Nagoya and continuing to Tokyo? Which is the best way to do this? Is it too much for one day?Thankyou

Pick the most efficient route. If that does not involve back-tracking, send your luggage via Yamato, etc. to Tokyo.
