Staying overnight in Akita?

Hi,
I really want to go to the Kanto Matsuri on the 6th, but was only able to find a hotel for $170...but I think I'd prefer to spend that money on other things.. So my question is, does anyone know if its possible to just chill out/take a nap somewhere overnight in Akita and take the train out the next morning?

Of course you can. There is no curfew in the city, so you are allowed to be out at any time. You could try to find a 24-hour restaurant (like McDonalds) to sit in for some of that time.

Lol thanks.
I don't know much about Akita, and I'll be travelling alone, so that's why I was hesitant.
Anyone know if they have any 24hr Maccas or something?
