Ise Shrines - worth a visit (reconstruction) 2013/7/18 22:12
Hi, I am visiting Japan in mid-August. I wanted to visit Ise Shrines, but are they worth a visit at the moment? I have read at your website that they are being reconstructed at the moment. Thanks a lot for your answer. Also I am looking for some non-turisty places around Kyoto and Osaka, will appreciate any advice.

It is the best time in 20 years to visit them! You can see both the old and new buildings side by side, a very unique opportunity:

Hi Uji, this looks interesting. How do I get there from Kyoto? Alight at Iseshi station?
