Noboribetsu Bear Park

Hi,
i intend to visit the bear park in Feb 15/16 2014, appreciate your advice on the dates on the closure of the ropeway?

The most update news on the park closure (with the ropeway) is from Dec 10-19 this year and there is no mention of any closing date for 2014 yet. Keep monitoring the following webpage for update information.

If I may I would like to express my disappointment of the place. It is one of rare places in Japan we regret going to. When we saw those poor creatures begging for food down in the pit we almost burst into tears. Admittedly it is difficult to see them under a safe environment but they do belong in the wild. Can't help thinking what if those are humans down there! Bear Mt in central Hokkaido is a better place as they are kept in a more natural and spacious surrounding. Just that the place is closed during winter months.
