Cheap hotels near Osaka Castle

Hello, I want to stay near Osaka castle for some reasons during my stay in Osaka. Most hostels seem to be in the south area so no hostels near the castle. I have found two Toyoko Inn hotels for around 5100 yen a night (1 person) near the east side of the castle grounds.
Anyone knows any hotels that are possibly cheaper and will give me a non smoking room?

Thanx. I will look at that. Do you have any experience with Super Hotel? Are they better off than Toyoko Inn?

I haven't stayed in one yet, but would if I travel and need a cheaper clean place. As far as I have heard, it is more or less comparable with Toyoko Inn. Some various branches have a few additional perks for each chain.

Alrighty. Well I am most used to Toyoko Inn, unless there are any of the same price/class closer to the castle than the two that are located west of Osaka castle park.

Not sure how close you're wanting, but the two I'm staying at next months are:
Hotel Hillarys (semi-double room non-sm) $55 3-4-10 Nippombashi (includes taxes and fees)
Business Hotel Kansai (semi-double room non-sm) $57 9-15 Togano-cho (includes taxes and fees)
Not that much more than the $50 for single room you quoted at Toyoko.

That looks a bit off from the castle but thanks for the ideas anyway.
