Hiroshima to Shirakawago

Due to time constrain, I am trying to go to Shirakawago from Hiroshima.
My plan are:
5 Sep - Hiroshima to Nagoya (can I get a bus from here straight to Shirakawago) without staying a night in Nagoya?
I have read that we need to get transfer from Takayama. Is that the other way to get to Gifu?
6 Sep - I would like to stay 1 night in the Gasso house. Can anyone recommend a good one?

It is relatively easy to get to JR Kanazawa or JR Takayama or JR Nagoya stations by JR from Hiroshima. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5953.htmlThe bottleneck is that bus service from each station is not very frequent so you need to leave Hiroshima early enough to catch a bus to Shirakawa-go. Nohi bus(from Kanazawa or Takayama) timetable http://www.nouhibus.co.jp/english/shirakawago_kanazawa.htmlGifu bus departs from Nagoya bus terminal at 9AM(daily service), so you can make it only if you ride 1st Shinkansen Nozomi from Hiroshima at 0600.
