Train travel to ski field Happo One, Nagano 2013/9/10 11:28
My family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers will travel from Narita to Tokyo, then Tokyo to Happo One in December. We will stay at Happo One for seven nights. Can we buy bullet train tickets to travel from Tokyo to Nagano, and how much will these tickets cost per person? I can see JR has a seven day pass for 37,800 yen but we would not use the train while we are in the ski village. thank you.

It's about 8000 yen each way. The rail pass (which is about 28300 yen btw) would not pay off if you just plan to visit Hakuba.

Once at Nagano City, you then have to catch a bus to Hakuba (where Happo One is located)

It cost around 1400 yen each way.

The other alternative is to catch the Azusa Express from Shinjuku (Tokyo). There is one direct train to Hakuba every day(the others stop at Matsumoto, then you catch a local train), which leaves Shinjuku at 7:30am (returns at 2:38pm)
Costs 7870 yen each way.
