I would like to find out which bus stop to stop for me to reach Hotel Miyabitei? How frequent is the bus from Noboribetsu Onsen to Noboribetsu JR station? Thanks.

The bus stop is in front of the station. There is counter that will provide up to-date English timetable for the bus. There is 1-2 bus per hour usually.

Thanks Quear & Willian5 for the reply. By looking at the map given by Willian5, can see that there are 2 bus stops in front of the Hotel Miyabitei. Will the bus stop at those bus stop or only stop at Noboribetsu Onsen Bus Stop?

The bus stop signs on the google map are Donan bus stops but I'm not sure if the local bus makes stop there or are they used exclusively by the buses from Sapporo and New Chitose Airport. Try asking for confirmation from the Noboribetsu Tourist Association at the following email address. bibanon@rose.ocn.ne.jp There is also an online enquiry webpage for Park Hotel Miyabitei but it is in Japanese. http://tohoresort.com/contact/index.php If their email doesn't go through, contact them through phone or fax. Thank you very much William5 for all the info. Really appreciate your help. The Onsen Map is very useful, can visualize the location of all hotels and shops around the onsen town. Can see that Takimoto Inn is very convenient compare to Hotel Miyabitei. By Comparing these 2 accommodation which is within my budget, I need your advise on this before I go ahead and do the booking.

Couldn't really comment on either lodging as we didn't stay overnight in Noboribetsu. On both our visits we based ourselves in Toya and did Noboribetsu as a side trip. Takimoto Inn is indeed more conveniently located as it is closer to the Jigokudani area. But from the amenity description Park Hotel Miyabitei seems to be a bit better. And rating given by the Rakuten site is slightly higher for Park Hotel Miyabitei. Takimoto Inn: http://www.takimotoinn.co.jp/ Park Hotel Miyabitei: http://www.miyabitei.jp/

One thing to take into consideration is that if you stay at Takimoto Inn, you can use the extensive baths at Dai-Ichi Takimotokan free of charge.

It's very easy just to get a taxi outside the station - they'll be waiting - and if there are two of you it shouldn't cost that much more than the bus (Bus is \330 per person so not that cheap.) The buses aren't that frequent & when its cold & snowy you just want to get somewhere warm. Here's a link it shows you how to use the bus http://www.noboribetsu-spa.jp/?page_id=94&lang=en

From what I heard, Mahoraba has the best food. And Daiichi Takimotokan has the best onsen.
However, they are both at their own corners of the onsen town. Take a more central hotel if you want to be near 7-11.
In Japan, bad food is hard to find and in Hokkaido even more so. You definitely won't have to worry about the quality of food. Unless you are a real foodie, there is not a need to head to Mahoraba.
Stay at a hotel, walk the streets in the day, go to the large onsen bath at Takimotokan (You can pay to use the onsen.)
If I am not wrong Kanko hotel is pretty well located and has reasonable prices.

Hi Guys, Thank you very much for the great info. As per LiLee, getting a taxi from Noboribetsu JR Station to Noboribetsu Onsen might not be that expensive compare to Bus if more than 2 person (Bus = 330yen/per person). I actually never thought about that before as we are in a group of 6 person. Thanks for the advice. As for the Hotel, I have already booked Hotel Miyabitei.
Thanks again guys.

From where are you travelling to Noboribetsu!? Do note that they have shuttle service from either Sapporo or New Chitose Airport as listed on my first response.

You can buy a return trip tix at the jr Stn for the bus. It saves you a little bit of money. Enjoy the onsen!
