Aso boy train 2013/9/29 13:51
Hi!
I would like to know whether special trains like Aso boy is included in the sanyo pass (for kyushu to Hiroshima areas)?

Re: Aso boy train 2013/9/29 14:16
The "JR Sanyo Area Pass" does not cover the Aso Boy. However, the "Sanyo-Shikoku-Kyushu Pass" does cover the Aso Boy (both the Northern Kyushu and All Kyushu versions).

The pass to whose page you are linking is called the JR Sanyo-Shikoku-Kyushu Pass - All Kyushu Version.

Re: Aso boy train 2013/9/30 20:42
Do you mean the Northern Kyushu version?
http://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/travel-information/pass/northern_kyu...

JR West has a page listing all of their passes:
http://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/travel-information/pass/

Or read the information and click on pertinent links on this Japan Guide page (scroll to Western Japan near the bottom of the page):
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2357.html

If this doesn't help, then maybe come back and restate your question.

Re: Aso boy train 2013/11/10 14:17

How about trains like "LTD. EXP KAMOME 41", LTD. EXP HUIS TEN BOSCH 13, LTD. EXP MIDORI 13 etc
are they all included in the sanyo all kyushu pass?

Uji San, do you know of a web link, where i can easily clicked and it will list down all trains to be used under each type of pass?

Yes, they are all JR trains in Kyushu.

In Hyperdia, you can usually recognize JR trains by their green train symbol, as opposed to the pink train logos of non-JR trains. Shinkansen have a special shinkansen logo. All shinkansen west of Shin-Osaka are covered by your pass.

i wish to be in panorama view but is there a need to specify sea view or hill view?

Re: Aso boy train 2013/11/10 23:18
hi!

Sorry

I aimed to take from kumamoto to aso( 09:42am)
station by train and then rush to take the bus (at 950)to aso san nishi , is this feasible or too rush?

is an hour enough for me to take the ropeway up and down and view the crater
and rush to take the bus (1130am) to go back to aso station

Does Aso boy train sells bento set or any japanese food/drinks in the train for consumption in the train?? (like a push-tray)

Do you happen to know is there anything special to shop at kumamoto JR station or kagoshima chuo?

All seats on the train are reserved, but anybody can also visit the common areas like the play area.

If you have a specific seat request, you should say so at the time you make seat reservations:

8 minutes is more than enough to transfer from the train to the bus at Aso Station.

Yes, I think that should be enough. Most people don't stay too long around the crater due to the strong gases. Sometimes, the crater is not even accessible. You may want to inquire at Aso Station about the day's state.

It looks like there is a cafe on board. I am not sure whether there is a push-tray service in addition to day.
