The "JR Sanyo Area Pass" does not cover the Aso Boy. However, the "Sanyo-Shikoku-Kyushu Pass" does cover the Aso Boy (both the Northern Kyushu and All Kyushu versions).

The pass to whose page you are linking is called the JR Sanyo-Shikoku-Kyushu Pass - All Kyushu Version.

Uji San, do you know of a web link, where i can easily clicked and it will list down all trains to be used under each type of pass?

Shinkansen have a special shinkansen logo. All shinkansen west of Shin-Osaka are covered by your pass. Hyperdia: http://www.hyperdia.com/

hi!
Sorry
I aimed to take from kumamoto to aso( 09:42am) station by train and then rush to take the bus (at 950)to aso san nishi , is this feasible or too rush?
is an hour enough for me to take the ropeway up and down and view the crater and rush to take the bus (1130am) to go back to aso station
Does Aso boy train sells bento set or any japanese food/drinks in the train for consumption in the train?? (like a push-tray)
Do you happen to know is there anything special to shop at kumamoto JR station or kagoshima chuo?

Can we move about and visit other compartments in the aso boy train? All seats on the train are reserved, but anybody can also visit the common areas like the play area. i wish to be in panorama view but is there a need to specify sea view or hill view?If you have a specific seat request, you should say so at the time you make seat reservations: http://www.jrkyushu.co.jp/trains/asoboy/I aimed to take from kumamoto to aso( 09:42am) station by train and then rush to take the bus (at 950)to aso san nishi , is this feasible or too rush?8 minutes is more than enough to transfer from the train to the bus at Aso Station. is an hour enough for me to take the ropeway up and down and view the crater and rush to take the bus (1130am) to go back to aso stationYes, I think that should be enough. Most people don't stay too long around the crater due to the strong gases. Sometimes, the crater is not even accessible. You may want to inquire at Aso Station about the day's state. Does Aso boy train sells bento set or any japanese food/drinks in the train for consumption in the train?? (like a push-tray)It looks like there is a cafe on board. I am not sure whether there is a push-tray service in addition to day.
