You can't ride up as the trails either have too many stairs or are made up of loose scree that is impossible to ride up, but in the past people have carried bikes up and then ridden down. It seems that bikes used to be prohibited during the climbing season, but I'm no longer sure that that is the case with the new UNESCO designation. Here's one guy that did the ride in 2004 (fyi, he didn't seem to find the ride down particularly enjoyable):
