Advance booking of a shukubo at Koyasan

I'm planning atrip to Japan during June '14 - I tried to have a look at some temple lodgings at Mount Koya but nothing seems to be available (I tried any combination of temples & advanced dates). The only rooms available I can find is only up until February.
Could it be that you can't book way ahead or time? What are the typical advance booking windows?

Yes, it is most likely that the website you are using does not allow reservations that far in advance for some reason.
