Mt. Fuji on the 4th of January

From the link http://www.japan-guide.com/bus/fuji.html , no bus will operate from the 4th of Jan until March 15, 2014. Could you suggest if there is any other public transportations from Kawaguchiko Station to Kawaguchiko 5th Station? I have never been at Mt.Fuji. What kind of activities I can do at Mt.Fuji during the New year? Thank you.

Alternative modes of transportation are taxi and rental car. Note that the road to the 5th Station is not seldomly partially or fully closed during January due to snow.

as uji says the road to the 5th station will be closed either fully or up to a certain part. I've been up in April and still only got half way up.

Depending on snow condition, I understand that sometimes it can be fully open. But more often it is only as far as the 4th Station or even less.
