Fuji Hakone Free Pass

Hi. I'll be visiting Hakone/Fuji-san area from Tokyo on 3 Apr 2014. I'm planning to get the Fuji Hakone Free Pass from Odakyu. If my understanding is correct, the pass allows the following:
- one way ride from Shinjuku to Odawara via railway
- one way ride from Kawaguchiko Station to Shinjuku Bus Terminal
So I'm wondering if I must follow what the pass says i.e. travel from Shinjuku to Odawara via rail and travel from Kawaguchiko Station to Shinjuku bus terminal via bus. Can it be done in reverse i.e. Shinjuku bus terminal to Kawaguchiko Station (bus) and Odawara to Shinjuku (rail)?

It can also be done in reverse. The important thing is that you use each method only once.
