Shirakawa-go on a weekday

I was planning to stay overnight in Shirakawa-go on a weekday during the light up festival. Does anyone have any knowledge or photos of what the village looks like without any of the lights?
I'm thinking it might be better to hold off for another time to go during the weekend if the village does not look as spectacular on a weekday.

It is a very popular destination which attracts a lot of visitors. I am not sure how the light up looks like but it is already very nice in the daytime. If time allows you should visit there. I am going back if I have the chance.
