Can anyone recommend a homestay in or near Takayama???
We are travelling in late April.

How many people are "we"? Most homestay can't really accommodate many people. Although I don't know if these websites has a room that let you stay with a japanese familiy, I suggest you look at airbnb, couch surfing and sakura house.
