Hi all ,
I read from a travel blog, there's a direct bus ( bus no.12 ) from Kinkakuji to Higashiyama district. I tried to confirm this by doing some seaching on Bus No.12 but to no avail.
Is it true Bus no 12 goes directly from Kinkakuji to Higashiyama ? If so , how frequest are these buses ? And are they included in the One day bus pass ? and what is the name of the bus station of Kinkakuji temple ?
THank you so much in advance . Have a nice day.

Yes, bus number 12 goes direct from Kinkakuji to Higashiyama (Gion). Note that it can be a pretty long trip especially if there's traffic.

They are pretty frequent, a few departures per hour. That route is fully covered by the pass.
and what is the name of the bus station of Kinkakuji temple ?

Since Kinkakuji is in the west-end of the city area of Kyoto while Higashiyama is in the east-end (Higashi means east), almost all buses from Kinkakuji-michi will go toward the Higashiyama though many stop before reaching Higashiyama area. There are two bus stops of Kinkakuji-michi, one north-bound and another south-bound. The next bus stop of north-bound route is Senbon-Kitaoji (千本北大路)and south-bound is Wara-Tenjin(わら天神). The nearest (fastest by bus) Higashiyama area (note that this is very wide area, from Shugaku-in to Fushimi) would be Ginkakuji. Express 102(洛102)bus (south-bound) is the fastest, but it comes only twice an hour. Another south-bound bus is 204 (4 to 6 times an hour, counter-clock-wise), which makes somewhat detour, but this bus goes, before Ginkakuji-michi, to Higashi-Tennoucho which is near to the south-end of the Philosopher’s path. One of the north bound buses is 12 (4 to 6 times an hour), which goes to Gion (Shijo Keihan Mae) but this is not so convenient for famous temples/shrines in the Higashiyama area. A bright side for 12 is that this bus stops at Kinkakuji-MAE, which is nearer to Kinkakuji (by 150 m or so). 204 (clock-wise, 4 to 6 times an hour) goes through Kitaoji street to Kamihate-cho and then turns south to Ginkakuji-michi. You should check out the bus map. http://www.city.kyoto.lg.jp/kotsu/cmsfiles/contents/0000019/19770/eigo... This is very complex (so that I do not recommend the novice of Kyoto to take buses), but if you look fixedly, you will find your route. Have a nice trip!
