Shiga kogen/Zao - which is good for ski & kid

Hi there, I am planning ski trip for my family, as from warm country never snow, surely my kids will love to play with snow.
As doing research in this website & forum, I shortlist into 2 areas: Shiga Koen and Zao, but cannot decide which one. Need you guys suggestion/comment. Here is my plan & info
Time: 9-11 Apr, 2 nights
# of people: 2 adults 2 kids (7 & 5)
Interest: ski, sledding, any fun activity with snow
Please help which one, hotel?
PS. as we will be there pretty late (mid of Apr), not sure those resort still open & have snow enough for us to play?
