Sinkanshen and transit to Kintetsu 2014/2/18 18:18
I will travel from Tokyo to Nagoya by Shinkansen, and from Nagoya to Yokkaichi by Kintetsu train. So when I arrive Nagoya station, after get off Shinkansen, do I need to get out of the station gate and then by Kintetsu ticket and go back in? Or is there a direct way from Shinkansen platform to Kintetsu platform?

Same question when I go back from Yokkaichi to Nagoya by Kintetsu and from Nagoya to Tokyo by Shinkansen.

Thank you.

The shinkansen (JR) and Kintetsu lines are run by different companies in different stations. You'll have to exit Nagoya Station and walk about a hundred meters southwest to enter the Kintetsu Nagoya Station. There you can buy tickets and catch the train to Yokkaichi.

[Station map of JR Nagoya]
http://www.ecomo-rakuraku.jp/stationmap/25077.html
Shinkansen[VŠ²ü] : platform 16/17 (map bottom)
Kintetsu(line)[‹ß“S(ü)] : map top (underground station)
Yellow box [-Œû]FJR ticket gate
perpule area : Shinkansen ticket valid area
light blue : JR local line ticket valid area(Shinkansen ticket possible via connection gate[ĉŠ·Œû])

This direction video is half way to Kintetsu gate from JR central ticket gate[JR’†‰›Œû].

BTW,get off at JR Yokkaichi station by JR Kansai main line[ŠÖĵ–{ü](11,12or13) really bad?
Kintetsu Yokkaichi station placed about 1km far but wide straight flat road not so far.
If not transfer at JR Kuwana[ŒK–ĵ‰w] to Kintetu Kuwana side by side very easier than Nagoya.

[Tickets]
Kintetsu is not JR group rail so usually purchasing new ticket for Kintetsu if using JR-PASS or Putatto Kodama and more.
but if using regular ticket making connecting ticket[˜A—ĉŽÔŒ”/renraku-josya-ken] JR line(from Tokyo) to Kintestu line station via Nagoya(or Kuwana) possible at JR ticket counter in Tokyo.
