I'll be traveling to Japan in March and I would like to visit Hokkaido but I know it's between peak and off-peak season. Is it worth the trip and is there enough to see and do in late March?

Yes, there are places that you can visit all year round but without know your interest, it is hard to say you would like them. Check out the map and this page
