Kansai PM flight - go to Kyoto directly? 2014/3/29 14:34
Hi,
we are arriving at Kansai airport on a 9PM evening flight sometime in the middle of May.

After clearing customs & immigration, as well as renting a mobile phone + getting the usual tourist brochures, I reckon it will be at least 10pm or 10:30pm by the time we exit the airport. It is also our first time to travel in the Kansai region, and our itinerary only revolves around 2 areas: Osaka/Kobe (4 to 5 days) and Kyoto/Nara (7 days).

Which is more advisable to do upon our arrival at the Kansai airport? (1) Proceed directly to Kyoto by train; (2) Stay in hotel near airport and go to Kyoto the next day; (3) Proceed to Osaka hotel and do the Osaka itinerary first before Kyoto itinerary.

Please help with your advise. Thank you!

I think it stayed in Osaka on the first day, you are going to Kyoto direction is better to after the schedule is good. When you leave the Kansai International Airport at 10 pm, and arrive in Kyoto it would be midnight.

I'd stay the night at a Osaka hotel and do the itinerary meant for Osaka the following morning.
