University student - Income tax? 2014/3/30 18:28
I am a student at a Japanese University (student visa). I will be here for 4 years (and plan to work here after graduating). I do not have a part time job or work permission in Japan. I receive money from overseas to pay for tuition and living expenses.

Reading on the internet, it looks like the money I am receiving is taxable since I will live here for more than 1 year. Do I have to declare my income or pay income tax?

No you won't. Likely you won't be receiving enough to even matter. Furthermore, if it's a loan, ti's not taxable. Also, if you are receiving government benefits to pay for the school, it is not taxable.
