Bring a tent?

Going to Japan from July 21 to August 8.
Planning to hitchhike from Kagoshima to Hiroshima so wondering if I should bring my tent.
The reason I ask is because of the heat and humidity.
Will it be too hot and humid with a tent?

It is likely to be very hot and humid outdoors. I don't know what you are used to, but oh, OK, I see you are from northern Europe. It would be advisable for you to look up youth hostels, inexpensive hotels, etc. in advance along you travel route, so that you can book ahead or just can (if they are vacancies - note that that period is school holidays) stay for the night. Also, if you insist on camping, be sure to look up camping sites beforehand.
