Fish markets in Kyoto and Osaka 2014/3/31 15:39
Wife and I will be in Kyoto in early April. We hope for some advice on the following:
a) Are there any fish markets like the one in Tokyo in Kyoto and Osaka?
b) We are thinking of making a day trip from Kyoto to Kobe, which is the best way to get there and are there much to see apart from the sake breweries which we like to visit.
Thanks.

If you just want to buy fresh seafoods or sushi, you can just visit both (Nishiki Market) in Kyoto and ( Kuromon Ichiban) in Osaka. As for day trip to Kobe, you can either take Hanshin line or Jr trains to Kobe. Which station... depends on what you want to visit.

Hi, if your visit coincides with the second or fourth Saturday of the month, do visit Kizu Wholesale Market. Any other day, its not open for public. Things are cheaper and fresh. be there early. Enjoy your trip !
