Hi everyone,
Ifll be visiting Japan for 10 days from April 28th-May 8th. I plan to allocate the trip as follows:
Tokyo: 5 days Mount Fuji: 1 day Osaka: 2 days Kyoto: 2 days
1. What do you think about my allocation of time? Are the amount of days adequate to explore the key attractions in each city?
2. We were told to see Mount Fuji during our trip from Tokyo to Osaka.
a) Is Mount Fuji worth taking a day trip to, given the time of year, weather, and ease of travel?
b) Where should we go to see Mount Fuji, and how would the transportation work between Tokyo, Mount Fuji, and Osaka?

I think views of Mt Fuji is 90% luck, not location. We spent 14 days in Tokyo last year, and the best view was not at Hakone but from Tokyo when we went to the World Trade Centre observation deck.
The day we went to Hakone we got rain. Still had a great day, probably my favourite trip, did the whole loop and the onsen/hotel was so relaxing.
So try to plan something additional on the day to see Mt Fuji so you don't get disappointed if you get a cloudy day.

I would prefer to spend one more day in Kyoto as opposed to Tokyo. Tokyo didn't have as much for me. I spent 3 days at each place.
