Bought Kansai Wide Pass but maybe too early 2014/4/4 01:58
Hello, I bought JR Kansai Wide Area pass since February but gonna use it for the first day tomorrow (April). Is it still usable?

I asked the travel agent how long in advance I can buy and they said three months.
I just checked tonight and found that it said only one month!

https://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/travel-information/pass/kansai_wide...

Availability and Use
¥ A rail pass is available and usable all year around.
¥ A rail pass is purchasable up to 1month in advance of the first day of use.
¥ A rail pass is valid for consecutive days.
¥ The validity of a rail pass starts from 12 a.m.

Am I misunderstanding, what should I do?

from the link you posted:

Purchasing Exchange Order through a Travel Agency outside Japan
Step 1. Purchase an exchange order (MCO: Miscellaneous Charges Order) at sales
locations outside Japan.
Sales locations: Click here for details
Once issued, MCO must be exchanged in 3 months.
Step 2. After entering in Japan, present the MCO with a passport at exchange locations...

Since what you purchased is a MCO, it should still be valid.

I think the result of reading the Web that you have presented is the following.

There are three ways to purchase the Pass.
1.Buy a travel agent in MCO of your country, then after arriving in Japan, in exchange for MCO, to receive the Pass.
2.The booking of and payment for Pass on the Web at JR West, then after arriving in Japan, to receive it.
3.After entry into Japan, and present the documents required by the sales offices of the main station of JR West, to buy it.

I think that's three months you heard travel agent is a thing of the expiration date of the MCO.

For 2. and 3.
It is that you can buy from one month before you start using the Pass.

For 1.
MCO and Pass there needs to be exchange, until the expiration date, and one month before the start of use Pass.
