Luggage storage in JR Aso Station

Hello All,
We are looking into going on a day trip to Mount Aso. We would come from Kumamoto, visit Mount Aso and proceed to Beppu.
We will be carrying large luggage so we would like to keep it in a locker in the JR Aso station while we visit the mountain.
Can anyone tell me if this station has lockers for large luggage?

Yes, Aso Station has all three sizes of coin lockers.
In case they are full, ask the station staff. I am sure they would be able to offer an alternative way of temporarily storing your luggage.

if the station lockers are full or too small, you can always head to the information centre in front of the station, about 50m on the left after you exit,where they will keep luggage of any size for 500 jpy a piece.
