shibazakura festival on April 20

I will be at the Lake Kawaguchiko area on April 20. It will be the opening weekend for the shibazakura festival. Does anyone have any idea how the flowers will be by then? ie. is it too early for the flowers to bloom, and may not be worth going to? Should I skip it and spend the time at other attractions instead? And are cherry blossoms expected to be blooming then? Thank you.
