Takachiho to Kurokawa

Hey, so I'm in Aoshima about to start my day and I figured out how to get to Takachiho from here with the help from the guy running the guesthouse I'm staying at. My only concern now is when I'm in Takachiho how do I get to Kurokawa?

I assume you don't have a car. It is rather complicated by public transportation as explained here:

Takachiho to Aso:

Instead of travel via Takamori, you could also consider transferring buses at Kumamoto Airport.

take the train from Nobeoka to Yufuin, then the Kyusanko bus to Kurokawa onsen. There are only 2 buses per day at 9am and 2:50pm.

Travel via Yufuin would be a big detour.

Shoot. This sounds super complicated. I could try seeing if the staff at the ryokan I'm staying at in takahicho has an idea.

I don't think they'll find anything faster or simpler; both Takachiho and Kurokawa are remote locations with only infrequent bus service. You should have planned your itinerary in advance.
