How to get to Lake Kawaguchi from Shin Fuji?

Hi,

I intend to visit Lake Kawaguchi after completing my religious pilgrimage to Taisekiji.

The bus from Taisekiji heads to 3 locations at the following timings: Fuji Station (3:40pm) , Shin Fuji Station (3:50pm) and Fujinomiya (3:35pm) Station.

Can I check if there is any transport to head to Kawaguchi? And which Stations is it from?

There is a bus from Shin-Fuji Station via Fujinomiya to Kawaguchiko Station:

The last departure of the day according to the current schedule is:

14:45 Shin-Fuji Station
15:20 Fujinomiya
16:40 Kawaguchiko Station

Does that mean I won't be able to make it for the last bus..?
Is there alternative transport?

I am not aware of any other connection by public transportation. There are later buses from around the Lake Motosuko area. A taxi ride from Fujinomiya to Lake Motosuko would cost around 10,000 yen. All the way to Kawaguchiko around 15,000 yen.

Is car rental an option?

Or you could make a detour via Gotemba or Kofu from where buses to Kawaguchiko run later into the evening.
