I will be in Japan during Obon and I would like to know what are the best places or festivals to see during these dates (13-15 August)?

There are tons of festivals going on all over Japan during August, although usually most happen on weekends. It would be helpful to know where you are planning on staying.

Well, you didn't tell us where in Japan you'll be but one of my favorite Obon festivals of all times is the Gujo Odori in Gifu Prefecture, so check it out and see if you can squeeze it into your itinerary. :D
