According to another thread, you will head from KIX to a place in Suita City near subway Esaka Station (M11).
http://www.japan-guide.com/forum/quereadisplay.html?0+113121Since the ticket is 4060 yen, inclusive of 2,500 for the ICOCA (consumable + deposit) Precisely, the ICOCA & Haruka is not a set of tickets but a combination package, and you pay 2000 yen for an IOCOCA Card.
the effective cost of the Kansai round trip is 2060 yen. Am I correct? Itfs true that the cost of the tickets are 2060 yen. But you pay 320 yen for subway if you make a transfer in Tennoji. From Kyoto to KIX you can use the return ticket to take a Haruka train, though without seat reservation.
So, if you choose a roundtrip ICOCA & Haruka package, the total cost of your accesses from and to KIX is estimated at 2380 yen.
And, when you return the ICOCA Card for a refund, you pay up to 220 yen as a handling fee.
The ICOCA & Haruka is a combination package.
: The one-way package is composed of an ICOCA Card + a one-way 1-day ticket to travel by JR-West from KIX to Kyoto / Osaka / Kobe City.
: The roundtrip package is composed of an ICOCA Card + a one-way 1-day ticket to travel by JR-West from KIX to Kyoto / Osaka / Kobe City + a one-way 1-day ticket to travel the reverse. (Each of the two tickets can be valid on 1 day during 14 consecutive days.)
: You pay 2000 yen for an IOCOCA Card, including 500 yen as a deposit.
: You pay 1030 yen per way for the ticket(s).
So this would be cheaper vs. taking Kanku Chikatoku upon arrival (1000 yen to Suita City), and Haruka one way (more than 2000 yen from Kyoto) upon departure. Unlike the ticket in the one-way ICOCA & Haruka, you can use a Kanku Chikatoku Ticket either from or to KIX. However, with a Kanku Chikatoku Ticket, you should make a transfer between subway and Nankai in Namba, which does not seem to suit your way from Kyoto to KIX, especially when you can chose a direct Haruka train on JR lines.
