Haneda to Hotel Niwa by Monorail and Train 2014/4/25 01:16
Arriving at Haneda International Terminal at 8:00 p.m., should be leaving the airport around 9:30 p.m.
1. Was unable to figure out of there is still limousine bus service available at that hour from Haneda to Tokyo Dome Hotel?
2. If not, plan to take monorail to Hamamatsucho station, transfer to JR Yamanote Line at Hamamatsucho, then transfer to JR Sobu Line at Akihabara Station, exit at Suidbashi Station, then walk to hotel. Since I have luggages, is there elevator or escalator at Hamamatsucho Station for the transfer from the monorail platform and station and to the JR Yamanote Line platform? or have to use some stairs?
3. Is there elevator or escalator at Akihabara Station to go from JR Yamanote train platform to the JR Sobu train platform?
4. Is there elevator or escalator at Sudabashi Station to go from the train platform to the street?
5. Or should I get off at one of the station above and take a taxi to the hotel?
6. Suggestions for other ways to hotel? Thank you.

1.Last bus is 17:10 departure, you will not be able to ride it.
http://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/platform_searches/index/4/34

2.There are both elevator and escalator in the station.
http://www.jreast.co.jp/estation/stations/1248.html
In the time zone you are planning, in order to go to Akihabara, both of Yamanote Line and Keihintouhoku Line are available.

3.If I remember correctly, I guess that there is no escalator to go directly to Suido-bashi direction from the platform of the Yamanote Line. To use them, you need to get down to the first floor once, then go up to the platform of the third floor.

4.There is elevator in Suido-bashi Station East Exit. It is placed at the end side of the platform of the station.
http://www.jreast.co.jp/estation/stations/891.html

5.I think because it is just a short walk from Suido-bashi Station East Exit to go to the hotel, and there is no need to use a taxi.

Passby168 - thanks for the information. At Akihabara, you indicated you do not think there is escalator that go from the Platform 2 to Platform 5. What about the elevator? Based on the map, there appears to be an escalator that go up from Platform 2 to a dark red shade color floor and then from the dark red shade color floor, there is an escalator that go up to platform 5 (blue color) (shown on the little side ma). I am guessing that the Sobu Line is on the top floor, then there is another floor (dark red shade) below it, then the Yamaneto Platform, then the street level (lighter red shade). Is that correct. Or is it just easier to go down to the Floor 1, then go back up to Floor 4. It is very difficult for me to figure out how many floor there is at this station. Any assistance in helping with understanding the station map will be appreciated. Thanks.

For the station, I will attempt a description as possible to you.

JR Akihabara Station
1F Concourse and Exit
2F Yamanote Line and Keihin-tohoku Line
It is not possible direction to go directly between the opposite platform.
3F Soubu Line
It is not possible direction to go directly between the opposite platform.

Platform 5 and 6 are located on the same level, but because they are the opposite direction, in order to move between them, it must be through the stairs.

To 1F from platform 2:
The escalator are placed behind relatively platform.
Or, Elevator is placed in the center of the platform. It go down to 1F, but you can not go up to 3F.

1F Concorse:
Toward the elevator to go up to the platform 5. Line color of Soubu Line because it is yellow, Please go towards the fifth and yellow sign.

To platform 5 from 1F:
Elevator is narrow, you might waiting, but will ride the next.

I have been through that station often. I think it's simple compared to Tokyo Station and Shinjuku Station.
If you have any that are missing in my explanation, please let me know.

I've attached an image for explanation.

Here's another route.
Keikyu Ry to SHINAGAWA.
Go down to the Yamanote line (very close).
At TOKYO station take escalator up to the Chuo line to SUIDOBASHI.

Re: Haneda to Hotel Niwa by Monorail and Train 2014/4/26 13:53
As how Dick H said, there is also a path switch in Tokyo Station or Kanda Station. However, Chuo Line train to stop at Suidobushi station it is only a partial time zone, time zone most of the rapid service. If you get on the rapid train from Tokyo Station, there is a need to transfer to Sobu Line at Ochanomizu Station, but speculated that it is a few minutes time required for it. On the same platform of Ochano-sui Station, Sobu Line and rapid trains arrive and depart.

The following is an itinerary in Saturday. Timetable is different on weekdays.

I would it be to use the Keikyu, go to Mita Station direct train to the subway, then, I will go to Suidobashi station by subway Mita Line.

Re: Haneda Airport to Hotel Niwa 2014/4/26 16:48
passby168: go to Mita Station direct train to the subway, then, I will go to Suidobashi station by subway Mita Line.

This route sounds good to me.
From Keikyu stations in Haneda Airport, trains run for multiple directions, destined to many stations. Please feel free to ask a Keikyu station attendant which train should run directly to Asakusa Line (of Toei subway).

- Map of Mita Station (of Toei subway)

: Your transfer here will be from Track 2 to Track 4.

- Hotel Niwa Tokyo: From Nearby Stations
http://www.hotelniwa.jp/english/access/station.html
: Exit A2 (which is equipped with an elevator) and Exit A1 (which is not) are on different sides of the same road.
: You can get out via Exit A2, find a nearby Suidobashi crossing, cross Sotobori-dori southward, turn left, cross Hakusan-dori eastward, turn right and follow the rest of the route shown as a blue line on the map.

Is there elevator or escalator at Akihabara Station to go from JR Yamanote train platform to the JR Sobu train platform?

As passby168 points out, regarding Track 5 platform of Akihabara Station for westbound trains, there is no direct elevator / escalator available from any of the two Yamanote Line platforms.
Akihabara Station of JR-East is tricky, but it got improved about 10 years ago, with elevators newly installed and pathways widen; you can avoid staircases if you make a transfer via the concourse.

Chuo Line (pronounced like chew-all-line) and Sobu Line are jointed in Ochanomizu, which is between Suidobashi and Akihabara.
Please note that Chuo Line Rapid trains (from and to Shinjuku) skip Suidobashi and run not via Akihabara but on Ochanomizu -- Kanda -- Tokyo.

Re: Haneda to Hotel Niwa by Monorail and Train 2014/4/26 19:57
Thanks everyone for all the helpful information. All 3 options will work. My confusion about Akihbaraa Station was that there is a floor separating the Yamaneto Line and the Sobu Line and I thought one can go up from the Yamaneto line to the 3rd floor by escalator and then go from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor by escalator. But as noted, there is no way to cross the track even on the 3rd floor. So going down to the concourse and then back up will work. Really appreciate all the help.

Correction: typo 2014/4/26 20:39
Let me correct the second "Map of Mita Station" as "Map of Suidobashi Station" in my previous message.
