JR Pass Hokkaido or not 2014/5/16 03:03
I will stay at Sapporo, maybe 3d2n or 4d3n..
My itin are :
1st day : Sapporo - Furano - Biei - Sapporo
2nd day : Sapporo - Hokadote - Sapporo
3rd day : Sapporo - Otaru / Asahikawa - Sapporo

I will going in early July this year.

Is that possible ?

Which one is better? Otaru / Asahikawa? Or any other recom destination?

JRPass or not?
If I am going to drop Hokadote, JRPass or not?

Thanks..

If your destinations are cities, than a rail pass makes more sense. If you are going to the national parks, then buses or renting a car makes more sense.
If you have not seen it yet, look at the pass brochure on:

There are different prices and lengths, so decide which works best for you. If you want to see regular rail fares, just input 2 stations and see what the normal fare is on:

As Ken wrote, if you travel only Hokkaido, I also recommend that you purchase JR Hokkaido Rail Pass.

If possible, it is recommended that you one night in Asahikawa to go to Furano and Biei. You can reduce the travel time that more than go from Sapporo.

Your plan will contain the to go to Hakodate. It takes about 40 minutes and 3 hours one way by express train from Sapporo to Hakodate. I would recommend that you make sure in advance the service time of the train.

Thanks to Ken and passby168 for the infos..

Ken :
I will choose bus, because renting a car is so expensive.. x.x

passby168 :
Not only around Hokkaido actually, I will go to Hokkaido from Tokyo, so I think Sapporo is the best choice..
