Humidity in Osaka? 2014/5/25 12:24
Hey guys,

I am going to Osaka in September for 3 weeks. Ive been in Japan before but that was around December & January so it was pretty cold.

I heard September is going to be really humid and rainy, how humid it really gets there? Is there something i can do to make myself feel more comfortable? I really hate humid weather and usually my hair gets flat and curly, and i guess wearing jeans or any long pants wouldn't be ideal.

You can see the website of Japan Meteorological Agency. Below is the data for September, 2013.

By using Google translate, you may find the humidity.

See Vapor pressure column. I think when it exceeds 20 hPa, we feel it hot and humid. As you see, it exceeds before 15th Sep thereafter the weather was fine last year. Of course, the weather changes year by year, but in general, it gets cooler after autumnal equinox.

Is there something i can do to make myself feel more comfortable?

Most of the buildings including hotels, train stations, museums and department stores are air conditioned. Further public transportations (buses, trains, metros) are air conditioned.

You can go to some cooler regions such as Koyasan, Hokkaido (flight by LCC is quite inexpensive) and so on.

i guess wearing jeans or any long pants wouldn't be ideal.

Local peoples wear short pants in hot season. No problem.
