Train transportation from Narita to Nagoya

We are arriving on a Friday night at 8:30 p.m. at the Narita Airport. We would like to take the train to Nagoya. Is the bullet train available that late at night to take us to Nagoya? Will the train go to Tokyo station first before arriving in Nagoya. Would it make more sense to take the train to Tokyo from Narita, spend the night in Tokyo, and take the bullet train the next day to Nagoya? Thanks so much for any guidance!.

You won't be able to make it to Nagoya that night. You can stay at Shinagawa Toyoko Inn or somewhere near Shinagawa Station and take the shinkansen the next day.

You can also stay in a hotel near Tokyo Station and catch the Shinkansen in the morning to Nagoya. It would be most convenient to catch the Narita Express from the Airport Terminal basement to Tokyo Station (53min) stay at a hotel nearby, depending on your budget, then catch a Shinkansen from Tokyo Station in the morning to Nagoya.
