Help finding a meeting place in Akihabara 2014/6/6 03:36
I am meeting a friend in Akihabara in the next few days for lunch. He told me, "I"ll wait for you around ticket gate of "Showa dori guchi"(昭和通り口)" The last thing I want to do is be late. Can anyone show me exactly where this is (Google Maps). I'm not sure of this is above or below ground in the subways. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Majority of people go to Chup-dori-ave or Denkigai side. So you go to the other side.
Just follow the direction sign board in Akihabara station or ask any of staff in the station(other than shop staff).

Which railroad line(s) can you choose? Which station(s) can you start from?

Showa-dori Gate of Akihabara Station of JR is at the east end of the station, near Exit 3 of subway Akihabara Station on Hibiya Line of Tokyo Metro.

Akihabara Station of Tokyo Metro is simple; only Hibiya Line has tracks in this subway station, and you can go up by elevator / staircase from any of the two platforms on the 2nd basement to the concourse on the 1st basement, pass through one of the two gates, walk on the pathway and go up to Exit 3 on the ground by elevator / escalator / staircase.

Akihabara Station of JR is a little tricky; tracks of Keihin-Tohoku and Yamanote Lines lie north-south on the 2nd floor, and tracks of Sobu Line lie east-west on the 3rd floor.

: If you take an eastbound Local train (bound for Tsudanuma or Chiba) to Akihabara on Sobu Line, that train arrives at Track 6, and its head is closer to Showa-dori Gate.
: If you take a west bound Local train (bound for Nakano or Mitaka) to Akihabara on Sobu Line, that train arrives at Track 5, and its tail is closer to Showa-dori Gate.
: If you take a train on Keihin-Tohoku Line or Yamanote Line to Akihabara, that train arrives at one of the Tracks 1 through 4 (on the 2nd floor), and you can reach Showa-dori Gate either via one of the two Sobu Line platforms (on the 3rd floor) or via the concourse (on the 1st floor) + the pathway (on the 2nd floor).
